Oakland’s Whitethorn Singers began as a side project from singer/guitarist Andy Asp (Smokers, The Pattern, Nuisance) and Napa-born chanteuse Hannah Moriah. Recorded in a 1920’s garage with a salvaged cassette recorder, The Bunker Tapes’ wistful melodies evoke a rotting boardwalk on an overcast, abandoned shoreline, suggesting a lo-fi Ian & Sylvia on their final holiday.
